The DSG Annual Leadership Summit – Delivered To You.

This online personal discovery series is condensed from content presented at this year’s DSG’s 2022 Leadership Summit, attended in-person by hundreds of our team leaders. Each of our annual conferences is built around a teaching theme, which we call a “Rally Cry” that unites all of us with a common direction for the year’s goals and strategies. In short … it’s our mindset for the year.

A summit experience for EVERY DSG team member...including you.

It is essential for everyone in the DSG family to share and engage in this program of self-examination. It’s mandatory.

Join together with more than 4,000 of your teammates on this journey!

An online workshop of self-discovery.

OTHERS invites DSG team members to participate in eight program modules, each offering mini-courses that include online video presentations accompanied by private self-reflective worksheet exercises.

The seven letters of that simple one-word spell out the topic titles of each course module.

Get an overview of what to expect in this personal development series. In this introductory module, we will:

• Understand the opportunity of insight we can gain.

• Define exactly what OTHERS is ... and what it is not.

• Discover your true self, the key to living a fulfilling life that matters.

• Identify the obstacles blocking you from living a life for OTHERS.

• Commit to the changes we must make in order to pursue our desired purpose in life.

Take ownership of yourself. You are person of value, equipped with unique gifts to face all hardships and struggles. Name it. Call it what it is. Know there is a difference between how you see yourself and how others see you. The pivotal wounds or wins of your past do not own you. You are enough, possessing all the talents you need to shape who you are, and who you’re becoming.

The word “therefore” always leads you to a required response you must undertake. In your “therefore moments” you can say – “Because I have owned the hardships and struggles of my old life that locked me down, I will therefore respond differently in my new life. Because I now own my personal strengths, I will therefore use them to chart a new path of transformational growth.”

Your pride and pursuit of power can get in the way of serving others. Don’t mistakenly view humility as being soft and weak. Humility channels your strength into service. With humility, you don’t think less of yourself ... you think of yourself, less. By example, Jesus didn’t build a fortress. Instead, he built and invited us all to sit at his table.

When you make a deliberate deposit of encouragement into those around you, your words and actions say – “You have what it takes. I believe in you.” Through empowerment, you give others the confidence to believe more strongly, think bigger, dream greater, and accomplish more than they ever imagined.

Have you settled? Are you complacent? If you never feel risk, you’ll eventually feel regret for all the actions you didn’t take. Daring greatly requires you to leave your comfort zone. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. With risk, you consider the investment you can make and the return you can get for the sake of your family, friends, and teammates. Decide they are worth it.

How much you love is measured by how much you sacrifice. Sacrifice is the currency of unconditional love. It requires you to give your trust and expose your vulnerability to others. In sacrifice, you share your empathy with someone, you make them feel a sense of belonging, and you give them the forgiveness they need.

The period is just as important as all the previous letters. A period is the close to an imperative and complete sentence. It is a command. A period is required at the end of your last story, and the beginning of your next story. It summarizes the captivating story of a life that has been lived on behalf of others. Period.

After you have completed the OTHERS courses, your process of self-discovery and development doesn’t have to end! You can continue that journey. Having watched the insightful videos, and asked yourself the probing life questions of OTHERS … this program can then become part of your year-round daily way of life.

There’s more, if you want more. OTHERS will serve as our ongoing Rally Cry for the entire year.  After you complete these eight modules, their themes can be explored even further in the months that follow, through:

Live online small group discussions, hosted by DSG leaders.

Tips or questions for discussion offered periodically on Yammer.

Bonus self-led worksheet exercises.

Sharing sessions within DSG’s Life Groups.

Stay tuned for how to get plugged in!

During the rest of the year, you can continue to gain more wisdom and strength to resist giving in to your fears, or your desires for control and comfort that can derail you from your chosen course.

All of us are created with an inner desire to make a mark on this world and leave a legacy that matters. OTHERS will continue to show you how to plan and build that legacy each day … by becoming the person you were meant to be, for the life you were meant to live.

Let’s keep going!
